PLEASE COME JOIN US!!!

Date: October 13, 2013 Event Co-Chairs: Dave Gannon, Jason Brewer We invite you to join us for a driving tour that will celebrate some of the great roads and wonderful scenery that we have available to us here in eastern Nebraska and western Iowa. This event will allow each of us to enjoy our cars as we tour some of the less traveled, PAVED roads in our area. We will also have the opportunity to see geologic formations that are unique to our region. The Driving Tour will take about 3 hours, and the route will end at a steakhouse restaurant where we will enjoy mid-day dinner. It is an organized drive, with route instructions provided. Each car will leave separately, at intervals of 1-2 minutes, to allow distance between cars. This separation will avoid the tendency to form “car trains”, and route instructions will alleviate the need to stay together in order to stay on route. Each driver will need a co-driver/navigator to read route instructions and look for landmarks. Route instructions are presented in rally format, and are not in a format that can be entered into a GPS navigation system. We start the morning at a shopping center that includes a gas station, a convenience store, and a popular diner (Sugar’s Diner) so we can all meet, catch up with each other, get provisions, and of course kick tires and see each others’ cars. Route instructions will be distributed at that time. The plan is to meet at 9:00 am at the K-Mart Shopping Center on U.S. Route 6 in Council Bluffs. From Omaha, follow U.S. Route 6 East through Council Bluffs; the shopping center is located 6.4 miles east of the Missouri River. From I-80 in Iowa, take Exit 8, and proceed west on U.S. Route 6 for 1.3 miles to the shopping center. Address (for those with GPS navigation systems) is: 2803 E Kanesville Blvd, Council Bluffs, IA 51503. Please park in the northeast corner of the parking lot, near the shopping center entrance. We will have a Driver/Navigator meeting at 9:30 am. RSVP to Dave Gannon at: rsvp@gpcbmwclub.com by October 6 with the number of cars and number of people attending. We look forward to seeing you, and your car!
